Matthew Turner Shaw (1819-1886) of Matthew T. Shaw and Co

1819 Born at Louth, the son of Thomas Shaw and his wife Dorothy Thompson

1851 Ironmonger’s assistant, lived in Kentish Town, another lodger in the same house was Henry English[1]

1854 Married Jane English in Cheam.

1856 The business of iron and steel merchants in George St, Mansion House, London[2]

Later Daniel Baldwin, Matthew Turner Shaw and John Knight (declared bankrupt in 1866) had been in business as Railway Contractors, under the style or firm of Daniel Baldwin and Company, at Devizes, in the county of Wills, and Hungertord, in the county of Berks[3]

1867 Thomas Howard Head became a member of the firm of M. T. Shaw, Head and Co., engineers and contractors, their business being for the most part with architects and builders[4].

1871 iron merchant, living with his family in Wandsworth

1878 Living in Wimbledon[5]

1882 Jane Shaw died [6]

1883 Married Phoebe Mary Harrison

1886 Death of Matthew T. Shaw, senior partner in a business at 139, 141 Cannon St[7].
