The Marshall Brothers took over the yard from Thomas Anderson (of Newcastle) who had established the yard in 1852.

William B. Hornsby took over the yard

1871 Brothers H. A. B. Cole and R. F. Cole took over the Willington Quay shipyard of William B. Hornsby.

The yard became Tyne Iron Shipbuilding Co
