This is presumed to be a Mancuna lathe, differing only slightly from the 'Capitol' lathe in respect of the bed ways. On display at Oakham Treasures Museum, Portbury, Bristol
of Denton, Manchester. Manufacturers of gas cleaning equipment.
Previously known as S. Ratcliffe of Mancuna Works, Lyon Street, Miles Platting, Manchester. Maker of Mancuna machine tools.
1949 Private company.
c.1953 Moved to Denton
1960 Sold by the Bradford Dyers Association to the Sturtevant Engineering Co.[1]
1961 Air conditioning and dust extraction engineers. [2]
