1901 The Loch Leven Water and Electric Power Company obtained an Act of Parliament in 1901

Construction was deferred

1904 a revised scheme was submitted to Parliament and duly authorised.

1908 The entire capital of the company is held by the British Aluminium Co.

1909 Work on the aluminium factory started in February.
