Liverpool, Ormskirk and Preston Railway

The Liverpool, Ormskirk and Preston Railway was opened from Walton Junction, near Liverpool, to Lostock Hall, outside Preston, on April 2nd, 1849. A branch from Ormskirk to Rainford was brought into use on March 1st, 1858. [1]
