1886 Company formed to purchase the whole or any part of the business of Letts, Son and Co; half of the directors would be appointed by Cassell and Co and the remainder by Hazell, Watson and Viney Ltd; subscribers to the shares were publishers and printers [1]

1886 Cassell and Co issued a series of diaries bearing the name Letts[2]

Letts' Diaries Co Ltd later became Letts Quickref Diaries

Hazell, Watson and Viney later took a controlling interest[3]
