LEONARD BURRELL, born at Cheltenham in 1860, died at Auckland, New Zealand, on the 27th August, 1914.
In 1876 he was articled to Messrs. Gotto and Beesley, engineers and contractors, of Westminster, and was subsequently engaged on their drainage and improvements contracts at Rio de Janeiro.
He was afterwards employed on contracts at Horsham, Chatham, and Brentford, and in 1887 he returned to Rio, remaining there, employed on the City Improvements, until 1910, when he retired in ill-health.
Mr. Burrell was elected an Associate Member on the 6th April, 1886.
