1777 Born at Birstall, bear Batley. (some say he was a native of Whitkirk, Leeds)

1833 March. Death of Joseph Nelson, of Newsome Green, Civil Engineer, age 55. 'the most eminent builder of light-houses of the day'.[1]

  • Longstone (1826)
