JOSEPH HUNTRODS died on December 23, 1923, at his residence, "Alameda," Whitehaven Road, Workington, at the age of seventy-one.

He had long been associated with the West Cumberland iron ore industry. He was chairman of the Workington, Bridge and Boiler Co., Ltd., and also served on the Board of the Whitehaven Haematite Steel Co., Jacktrees Mining Co., Ltd., the Salter Mining Co., Ltd., and the Townhead Mining Co., Ltd.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1903.
