- John Tams and William Lowe were two pottery companies who came from a partnership Tams and Lowe, which split up in 1874.
- 1875 Became John Tams Limited.
- 1929 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Manufacturers of Earthenware, comprising Dinner, Tea, and Toilet Ware, Hotel and Restaurant Ware; also an exclusive new line "Celmore Ware" in Flower Pots, Vases, Rose Bowls, etc. (Stand No. E.22) [1]
- 2000 Went into receivership in February. Reformed as the Tams Group Ltd in April.
