John Percival Savage (1895–1970) of Boots Pure Drug Co

1895 November 18th. Born at 8 Watt Street, Nottingham, the son of Robert Louther Savage, a railway guard, and his wife, Mary, née Pakes.

1911 Left Mundella secondary school, Nottingham, without qualifications and joined Boots, the retail chain and pharmaceutical manufacturers, as an office boy.

1922 April 20th. Married Beatrice Maude, daughter of Henry Hodgson, a painter.

1954–61 Chairman and Managing Dierctor of Boots
