c1867 Born the son of George Eliot Birch, a Silk Weaver, and his wife Sarah

1891 Partnership dissolved. '...John North Birch and Jesse James Walker, carrying on business as Cycle Manufacturers, at the Foleshill Cycle Works, Foleshill, near Coventry, under the style or firm of Birch and Walker, has been dissolved, by mutual consent,...'[1]

1901 Living at 18 Fife Street, Nuneaton, (age 33 born Foleshill), a Cycle Maker and Employer. With his wife Hannah (age 29 born Exhall) and their daughters Gladys M. (age 7 born Foleshill) and Dorothy (age 4 born Nuneaton).[2]

1905 Birch emigrated to New Zealand and there he established the Marlborough and Carlton car companies.

1945 Died age 78 in Gisborne
