1869 Established by William Ramsay of Cupar, Fife, and John Milne of Inverurie.

1889 The Caledonian Mills were constructed on the bed of the old channel of the River Dee.

1898 John Milne and Company Limited, Caledonian Mills, Palmerston Road, Aberdeen, was promoted with a capital of £45,000, to acquire the business of John Milne & Co at Dyce, Aberdeenshire, and of the Caledonian Milling Company in Aberdeen, and to carry on the business of manufacturers of artificial manures, sheep dip, etc.[1]
