1965 Obituary[1]

"We regret to record the death, at the age of 54, of Mr. John L. Mease, superintendent and deputy works manager of the A.E.I. Traction Division works at Sheffield. Mr. Mease joined the Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company Ltd. in 1932 as a college apprentice at Trafford Park. After positions in various works departments of the factory at Attercliffe, Sheffield, he was appointed assistant to the superintendent in 1938, and later production engineer. For the war period he was chief production engineer, and in 1956 was appointed assistant superintendent (production). When the new Greenland Road factory commenced manufacture in 1958, Mr. Mease concentrated upon the build-up in production there, and four years later was appointed assistant superintendent, traction division, Sheffield, with responsibility for the output from both Attercliffe and Greenland Road factories."
