1863 Born in Birmingham, son of Ann Tangye.

1871 With his uncle James Tangye 45 and his wife Catherine Tangye 45, and Joseph's sister Ann Tangye 40, in Handsworth, Birmingham[1]

1885 Graduate of I Mech E; concerned in the works management of Messrs Tangyes

1891 Became a director of Tangyes

1901 transferred from graduate to full membership of I Mech E[2]

1961 Died in Birmingham
