1966 Obituary[1]

"We regret to record the death of Mr. John H. Watts, which occurred on August 5, at the age of seventy-seven. Mr. Watts joined the Wolseley Sheep Shearing Machine Company Ltd., in February, 1915. In 1916 he was transferred from Alma Street, Aston, to the Witton factory and took over the duties of chief draughtsman, and was initially engaged on design and layout of cream separators. He was appointed works manager in 1932 and in 1948 became works director, on attaining the age of sixty-five years he became technical director. During this time he was associated with various production projects relating to Wolseley manufacture, which included elevators, milk coolers, sheep shearing, electric fencers and stationary engines. During the last few years his special responsibility has been in connection with the re-building of Wolseley Works."
