John Gascoigne Bower (1881-1933)

John Gascoigne Bower was born in 1881, and received his training in the shops of the Brush Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., and Weller Bros., West Norwood.

He was then employed for some time in the Engineer's Dept. of the Royal Automobile Club, and from there was appointed Manager of the Provincial Motor Cab Co.

His next position was as Inspector with General Motors, Ltd., and thereafter for many years acted as a Consulting Motor Engineer in London.

From 1929 until the time of his death he was Director of British and Colonial Motors, Ltd.

He died in April, 1933, at the age of 51.

He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1923.
