JAMES WILLIAM RUNDALL, born on the 27th February, 1838, died at Tunbridge Wells on the 22nd February, 1911.
He went to India in 1855, and two years later joined the Public Works Department, in which he served over 30 years, retiring in 1888. During this period he carried out and superintended many important bridge, canal and irrigation works in the Godaveri, Tinnevelly and Kistna districts of the Madras Presidency. At his retirement he held the rank of Superintending Engineer of the first class, with head-quarters at Trichinopoly.
Mr. Rundall was elected a Member of The Institution on the 7th December, 1875.
