c1876 Born at Inkford Brook, Solihull the son of Robert J. Martin, a Farmer of 46 acres and publican of the Horse and Jockey Inn and his wife Caroline A.

1911 Living at 237 Walsgrave Road, Coventry (age 35 born Inkford Brook, Warks.), a Motor Engineer and Employer. With his wife (married eight years with four children) Catherine Martin (age 31 born Coventry) and their children James Arthur Martin (age 7 born Coventry), Catherine Nora Martin (age 5 born Coventry), Horatio John Martin (age 3 born Coventry) and Mary Marjorie Martin (age 1 born Coventry).
