JAMES MURLY GOTTO, E.B. (Cantab.), born on the 29th September, 1889, died on the 20th August, 1916, of wounds received in action in France.

After completing his practical training under Messrs. Dick, Kerr and Company, he served under his father, Mr. P. Murly Gotto, on the main drainage works of Rio de Janeiro, until 1915, when he returned home and obtained a commission in the Royal Engineers.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 8th February, 1916.
