James Henry Cartner Boyd (1883-1944), Chief Engineer of Ford


1944/45 Obituary [1]

James Henry Cartner Boyd was born in 1883 and apprenticed to automobile engineering in Paris.

During the first World War he served with the Ministry of Munitions, and then joined the Ford Motor Company, where he was Chief Engineer for eleven years.

In 1941 he became Designer and Chief Engineer of an aircraft shadow factory.

He died on 4th August, 1944, at the age of 61. He was elected a Member in 1919.
