"JAMES CRAWFORD MORRISON, who was born in 1880, received his education at King's College, London, and at the Borough Polytechnic. After serving his apprenticeship with Messrs. Worthington-Simpson and Company, Ltd., London, he became chief assistant to Mr. B. M. Sargent, for whom he was engaged for the next fifteen years on architectural, engineering, and Patent Office work.

During the war of 1914-18 he served in the Royal Naval Air Service for three years. On the termination of an appointment as branch manager for Drawing Office Supplies, Ltd., in 1923, he joined the Vickers Boiler Company, Ltd., London, and occupied successively the positions of leading contracts draughtsman, chief draughtsman and finally chief engineer and technical adviser. Since 1934 Mr. Morrison had been acting as engineer buyer and estimator for Mitchell Engineering, Ltd., until the time of his death, which occurred on 29th September 1945. He had been a Member of the Institution since 1932."
