James C. Cole ( -1901) Engineer, free hand Draughtman.
Specialist artist to The Engineer at the 1900 Paris Exhibition. He produced Illustrations of White Star Steamer Teutonic and HMS Prince George.

Educated as an engineer, he early manifested artistic talent, and ultimately came to be recognised as a free-hand draughtsman of machinery without a rival. In 1867 he was special artist for The Engineer at the Paris Exhibition. At that time photography was in its infancy; the "process block " did not exist, and all drawings had to be made on wood or stone and engraved.
