Captain John Hart Hardtman-Berkeley (1849-1910) of 83rd Regiment

1849 August 1st. Born the son of Thomas Berkeley Hardtmann Berkeley of Shadwell, St Kitts (died 1881). Thomas Berkeley Hardtman changed his surname from Hardtman to Berkeley, which was the maiden name of his mother Ann Howard Berkeley (daughter of Maurice Berkeley) after her death. This made his new name Thomas Berkeley Hardtman Berkeley and his children's surname became Berkeley instead of Hardtman. Thomas Berkeley Hardtman Berkeley's siblings, and their descendants, continued to carry the surname of Hardtman.

1901 Living at 5 St. Alban's Place, Westminster: John H. H. Berkeley (age 51 born West Indies, St Kitt), Retired Army Officer and married (no family listed).[1]

1910 August 12th. Died at Brighton.
