Iron Founders

Two of Isaac Cookson's sons were Isaac Cookson (1776-1851), of Meldon Park, Northumberland, and Thomas Cookson' (1779–1863), of The Hermitage, Chester-le-Street, who became landed industrialists, creating the basis for further diversification of the Cookson family's industrial interests in the latter part of the 19th century.
