Early 1900s Hyatt quickly became a key supplier to the booming auto industry under the leadership of Alfred P. Sloan

1916 Sloan sold his company to United Motors and was immediately hired as that company’s president.

1918 United Motors was acquired by General Motors; Sloan was made a GM vice president.

1923 Sloan was elected president of GM.
