1860 'STARTING ENGINES AT HOLLIN BANK MILL. The starting of the engines at the splendid new spinning mill erected at Hollin Bank by Messrs. Thompson and Longworth, was celebrated on Wednesday, when a numerous and highly respectable company assembled to congratulate the proprietors on the satisfactory progress they have already made, and to wish them every success in their great undertaking. Tho engines have been erected by the trustees of the late William Yates Esq., and are noble specimens of engineering skill, highly creditable to all concerned in their construction. ....'[1]
