1894 Registered in November with 11 public houses.

1918 Acquired Herbert Santer and Sons, Albion Brewery, Caledonian Road, Islington

1918 Acquired by Sir John Reeves Ellerman

1923 Acquired the Lion Brewery Co.

1925 Took over the public houses of the New Cross Brewery Co.

1933 Acquired by Charrington and Co.

1934 Charringtons introduced Toby Ale into the Hoare's brewery with great success[1]

Hoare's trademark, a toby jug, still forms part of the Bass Charrington trademark.
