1887 Established to supply quality malt whisky to the independent blenders; W. A. Robertson, of Robertson and Baxter was a moving force behind the company and became first chairman[1]

1914 Directors: James Robertson (Chairman), Thomas W. Dewar, A. C. Robertson, A. C. Marshall, James Boyne (Secretary).

Distilleries at Bunnahabhain, Islay; Glenrothes, Glenlivet; Tamdhu, Glenlivet; Glenglassaugh, Banffshire. Supplied the Wholesale Trade only.

1970 Acquired Matthew Gloag and Son

1990s The company was almost entirely reliant on one brand, The Famous Grouse Whisky[2]

1993 Highland Distillers owned Highland Park Distillery and delegated Highland Park to operate Scapa Distillery for them.[3]

1994 The company owned 35.4 percent of Robertson and Baxter[4]

1999 Edrington acquired Highland Distillers
