Henry Rigg (c1843-1917)

Rigg, Henry, M.I.C.E., Indian P.W.D. (retired); joined service as Assistant Engineer, 1862; served in various places in the Presidency of Madras, and became Executive Engineer, 1868; on special duty in Upper Burma, (medal and clasp) 1885-6: Manager and Engineer-in-Chief, Burma State Railway, 1889; Consulting Engineer to Government of India (Railway Branch), 1892; Consulting Engineer of Railways, Lucknow, 1896; retired, 1898. 1917 Died. 'Mr Henry Rigg, late of tie Indian Public Works Department, has died at Ealing at the age of seventy-four years. He joined the service in 1862 and served in various divisions in Madras. In 1868 he became Executive Engineer. He was on special, duty in Upper Burma; 1885-6, receiving the medal with clasps, and in 1889 he was appointed manager and engineer in chief of the Burma State Railway. In 1892 be became Consulting Engineer to the Government of India for Railways, Central Division. His final appointment was in 1896 as Consulting Engineer of Railways, Lucknow, and two years later he retired '[2]
