1862 Henry Mitchell started in business as a brewer.

1866 The Crown Brewery, Smethwick, was started

1878 the Crown Brewery was transferred to a new site at Cape Hill in Smethwick

1887 Incorporated as a limited company, under the style of Henry Mitchell and Co.

1897 Amalgamated with Butler's Crown Brewery, of Birmingham, forming Mitchells and Butlers
