HENRY EDWIN HARRIS. Mr. H. E. Harris died at Oldham on 22 September 1946.

Mr. Harris' connection with the textile machinery industry commenced early in 1931, when he was appointed Controller of Purchases to Platt Brothers and Company, Ltd. He also acted as Production Manager at the Harford Works of the firm at Oldham and, on relinquishing that position, in 1937 became Sales Manager of the Company's General Engineering Department.

At the time of his death, Mr. Harris was head of the Central Purchasing Department of Textile Machinery Makers, Ltd., and of the General Engineering Department of Platt Brothers and Company, Ltd. He was made a Local Director of the Company in May 1939.

Mr. Harris was a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
