1801 Advertisement: 'HEATON AND WHEWELL, IRONMONGERS AND WHITESMITHS, MARKET-PLACE, LANCASTER. MRS. HEATON, respectfully informs her friends and the public, that, with the assistance of JOHN WHEWELL, whom she has taken into partnership, They intend carrying on the above business in all its branches, and humbly hope, by strict attention, to merit the favours of their customers. N B. CAST-IRON GOODS, of every description, and to any pattern, as before, on the lowest terms.'[1]

Respectfully inform their friends and the public, ALTERATIONS having taken place in the above Concern, the business will, in future, be carried on by MARY HEATON, JOHN HEATON, and JOHN WHEWELL, under the firm of Heatons and Whewell; who take this opportunity of returning their sincere thanks for all past favours, and hope, by unremitted attention, to obtain a continuance of that support which it will ever be their study to deserve.
