This 4.5 mile line ran from Havant to Langston and was opened for good traffic in 1865 and for passengers two years later. [1]

1860 The company was incorporated.

1868 Consulting Engineer is James Abernethy; Acting Engineer Thomas J. Hay.[2]

1908 The line is 4.75 miles in length, and is leased to the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. [3]

1923 Became part of Southern Railway. [4]
