We have learned with regret of the death, on October 19th, of Mr. Harold Clutterbuck, M.I.Mech.E., the technical manager of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

After being apprenticed to Alfred Herbert, Ltd., Mr. Clutterbuck joined the S.M.M.T. in 1923 and became draughtsman in the standardisation department under Mr. T. H. Woollen.

In course of time he became manager of the technical department and was responsible for liaison with the Ministry of Transport and other Government departments on all technical matters concerning lighting and construction and use regulations.
