Haggerston Gasworks

1825 The Independent Gas Co established works in Albert and Laburnum Streets, Shoreditch (or Haggerstone), near the Regents Canal. The works were of interest as all of their mains were overhead. There were originally four holders, later replaced with one large one.

c1876 The company was amalgamated with the Gas Light and Coke Co

c.1885 Gasholder built for the Imperial Gas Light and Coke Co.
