GEORGE PICKUP RAWSTRON died in February 1930, at the age of forty-nine.

He was the proprietor of Messrs. Westoby and Rawstron, and chairman of Messrs. Rawstron, Westgarth & Co., Ltd., and was a well-known member of the Manchester Exchange.

His membership of the Iron and Steel Institute dated back to 1913.
