GEORGE MAXWELL WILSON was associated with Messrs. Head, Wrightson and Company, Ltd., of Stockton Forge, for practically the whole of his professional career.
He was born at Stockton on Tees in 1879 and received his technical education at the Technical School there. In 1898 he became an apprentice at Messrs. Pickerings' Globe Elevator Works in Stockton, but in the following year he joined Messrs. Head, Wrightson, with whom he completed his apprenticeship. He then entered the drawing office, where he rose to be a senior draughtsman, and in 1928 he was appointed assistant chief draughtsman. He was responsible for the design of colliery surface plants for Great Britain and abroad, and of blast furnace equipment, and for coke crushing, screening, and handling plant.
In 1929 he was elected an Associate Member of the Institution.
His death occurred at Stockton on Tees on 12th July 1935.
