GEORGE LOPES, B.A. (Cantab.), born in London on the 28th April, 1857, died at Sandridge Park, Melksham, Wilts, on the 28th June, 1910.
Obtaining his practical training under the late Mr. F. D. Banister, on the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, he subsequently became Assistant Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer to the Company, assisting the Chief Engineer on many important works.
Mr. Lopes was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 29th May, 1883, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 5th November, 1889.
