1933 Georg Fischer bought Britannia Iron and Steel Works Ltd. of Bedford and began to produce malleable cast iron fittings in Britain. George Fischer (Great Britain) Ltd was incorporated[1]

1948 George Fischer Ltd offered a Copying Lathe.

1980 Acquired Leys Malleable Castings Co (Lincoln) Ltd

1989 Set up George Fischer Foundry Systems (UK) Ltd in Altrincham to offer technical consultancy to the foundry industry.

By 1994 the company had active subsidiaries:[2]

1996 The name of George Fischer Foundry Systems (UK) Ltd was changed to George Fischer DISA Engineering Ltd

c.2004 The Lincoln operation was sold to Meade Corporation and renamed Lincoln Castings, except for the LM2 production line which was transferred to Germany[3]
