1837 George Ellis, an Engineer, became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[1]

MR. GEORGE ELLIS was elected an Associate of the Institution May 2, 1837, and was transferred to the class of Graduates January 29,1838.

The only information imparted by his brother, in reply to a request for materials to prepare a Memoir, was, that he 'died very suddenly in Canada, in February 1857.'
