Geoffrey Raymond Butcher (1897-1931)

Geoffrey Raymond Butcher was born in 1897 and was educated at Malvern College and Birmingham University. On the conclusion of his University Engineering course he was appointed to the Editorial staff of Temple Press, and in 1926 he joined the firm of Ariel Works, as Advertising and Competition Manager.

From 1927 until his death he held the position of Competition Manager to Rudge-Whitworth.

He died on 19th May, 1931, at the age of 34.

He was elected a Graduate of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1921 and was transferred to Associate Member in 1927.
