1879 Company founded by George Hopkins in St. Johns Street, Clerkenwell,

1936 Public company incorporated, taking over from G. Hopkins and Sons (Clerkenwell) Ltd

WWII Produced a large variety of items for the war effort, including aircraft engines, fuselages, mechanical parts for radios, etc[1]

1947 Offered to acquire United Motors Ltd[2]

1961 Manufacturers of brewing, dairy and industrial plant, electrical light and power installations and general engineering, specialising in the manufacture of bottle washing, filling and labelling machinery, pasteurisers, filters, conveyors, elevators, carbonating machines, racking machines and pulp washers.[3]

by 1968 Porter-Lancastrian was a subsidiary[4]

1969 Re-organisation of the group: Porter-Lancastrian Ltd incorporated G. Hopkins and Sons[5]
