FREDERICK MONKS died on September 24, 1912, at his residence at Lancaster Road, Birkdale.

He was chairman of Monks, Hall & Co., iron manufacturers, of Warrington. He was seventy-seven years of age, and retired from active participation in industrial affairs about five years ago.

He was one of the oldest members of the Iron and Steel Institute, having been elected in 1870.
