Aims at a healthy recreation, and a pleasant manner of getting about the country in his work as a county councillor. Has been a member of the Dumbartonshire County Council since 1889. As chairman of the Dumbarton County Road Board, the local authority for registration and licensing, he has much to do with the administration of the Motor Act; and, as chairman of the committee for bringing the Act into force, has suggested as few restrictions on speed, etc., as possible.
