1883 His father assumed, by Royal Licence, the prefix surname and arms of La Trobe, 1883.[3]

1897 Assistant to Sir Benjamin Baker on construction of the Central London Railway

1899 Assistant to W. Fox on design of various water supply and sewerage schemes in different countries

1911 Transferred to member of Inst Civil Engineers
1911 Civil engineer, living in St Pancras with Dorothy 33, John Saunders Latrobe Bateman age 5; their other child was not at home[5]
1952 Died in Goring on Thames[6]
