1887 Acquired the French Daimler engine patents; he had the engine made in certain factories in Paris among them the factory of Perrin, Panhard et Cie.

When Sarazin died in 1887, Levassor married his widow, Louise, and together with Panhard they started building cars as Panhard-Levassor.
