Dobson, Molle and Co

1827 Established by a Mr Clarke.

1900 Dobson, Molle and Company Limited was incorporated with capital of £100,000, half of which was raised through public subscription. The company was formed to acquire and carry on, from 31st May 1900, the business of Dobson, Molle and Company, wholesale and export manufacturing stationers, letterpress and lithographic printers, envelope makers and paper shaving manufacturers, at St. Clair Works, Edinburgh, 34 John Street, Glasgow and 78 Queen Victoria Street, London. Mr W. Gardner Sinclair, sole partner in the business, was the vendor to the company but agreed to stay on as managing director.[1]

1924 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]

1925 The business was offered for sale as a going concern and was bought by the Bristol firm of E. S. and A. Robinson for £37,500.[3] A successor firm, Dobson Molle Limited, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £25,000, to carry on business as colour printers and wholesale stationers.[4]
