CHARLES DAVID SZLUMPER, born at Aberystwyth; died at Glanteifi, Kew Gardens, on the 27th October, 1912, aged 40.

Trained under his father, Sir James W. Szlumper, M. Inst. C.E., he was engaged in connection with the many surveys and constructional works of which his father was the Chief Engineer. He also acted as Resident Engineer of the Vale of Glamorgan Railway and of the Vale of Rheidol Railway, and was the Engineer of the Manchester and Milford Railway up to the time it was absorbed by the Great Western Railway Company.

Mr. Szlumper was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 6th April, 1897, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 14th April, 1908.
