Charles Crowther was born in 1888 and received his technical education at The Belfast Technical Institute.
He was apprenticed with the firm of J. and W. Crowther and after a further two years spent in obtaining garage experience with various firms he was appointed Manager of Jno. Croall and Sons, Ltd., Perth.
During the War he was a Workshops Officer in the M.T., R.A.S.C., at Grove Park. After demobilisation he was appointed Manager of the Glasgow establishment of Messrs. Croall.
In 1930 he founded the firm of C. Crowther, Ltd., automobile engineers, of which he remained a Director until his death on 28th November, 1937, at the age of 49.
He was elected an Associate Member in 1919.
